The Black Cross King (黒十字王, Kuro Jūji Ō^?) is one of the many members of Dai-Zangyack, an alliance of all the enemies of the Super Sentai teams, led by Captain Marvelous/Gokai Red, rivaling Tsukasa Kadoya/Kamen Rider Decade and the revived Dai-Shocker. However, Rider Hunter Silva of Dai-Zangyack and Doktor G of Dai-Shocker overthrew their respective leaders and joined forces to destroy the Kamen Riders and Super Sentai. BackgroundEdit

The Black Cross King is notable for being the original Sentai "big bad", being the boss villain of the first Sentai series, Himitsu Sentai Gorenger, where he was known as the Black Cross Führer (黒十字総統, Kuro Jūji Sōtō^?). From this, the Black Cross Führer could be considered as Super Sentai's answer to the Great Leader of Shocker in the original Kamen Rider series.

The Black Cross Führer recently returned as the main villain of Gokaiger Goseiger Super Sentai 199 Hero Great Battle (2011), Super Sentai's 35th anniversary movie and equivalent to OOO, Den-O, All Riders: Let's Go Kamen Riders, which featured the return of the Great Leader. Now known as the Black Cross King, he was given a drastic redesign.

The Black Cross King, along with Baseball Mask and Rider Hunter Silva, was one of the only three Showa era Sentai villains to return in Super Hero Taisen, with the rest coming from the Heisei period, while Dai-Shocker had a more diverse age range of villains.

PortrayalEdit

In his return as part of Dai-Zangyack in Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen, the Black Cross King was voiced by Hideyuki Hori (堀 秀行, Hori Hideyuki^?), who previously voiced Great Sword Man Zubaan in GoGo Sentai Boukenger and also voicing the King's Black Cross minion, Baseball Mask, in the movie as well.
