This article is about a/an recurring trend in the Kamen Rider Series.

There have been summer movies since the beginning of the Kamen Rider Series, but it did not become a tradition until Kamen Rider Agito. Every Kamen Rider show has since had its own movie, premiering in the summer, double-billed with the summer movie of the Super Sentai show it is currently airing alongside. A common theme with all the movies is that they feature an evil Kamen Rider. The only exception to this is the summer movies for Decade, OOO, and Fourze. However, the Kamen Rider OOO movie featured a Movie-exclusive form, while the Kamen Rider Fourze movie featured the Space Ironmen Kyodain, which are similiar to Kamen Riders.

Due to the change broadcast schedule of Kamen Rider shows brought about by the shortened episode count of Kamen Rider Decade, summer movies now premiere during the final weeks of said show and only around a month before the arrival of the new series. Thus, starting with Kamen Rider Decade: All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker, the Rider of the upcoming show makes his "early-bird cameo". Super Sentai would copy this formula with their team up moviesIcon-crosswiki starting with Samurai Sentai Shinkenger vs. Go-Onger: GinmakuBang!!Icon-crosswiki. This tradition ended with Kamen Rider Wizard in Magic Land, as Gaim was introduced in a special epilogue two-parter for Kamen Rider Wizard. However, the tradition has since been revived by Kamen Rider Ghost making a cameo appearance in Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future.

Kamen Rider Kiva: King of the Castle in the Demon World was the first summer movie to be accompanied by a series of Net Movies, which has remained with all future summer movies until the tradition was forgone by Kamen Rider Gaim: Great Soccer Battle! Golden Fruits Cup!.
