Pandora Box six panels

Total 60 Fullbottles.

Fullbottles (フルボトル Furubotoru) are the sample bottle-like collectible devices used by the transformation gear in Kamen Rider Build.[1] The majority of the Fullbottles are in the collection of 60 that are associated with each panel of the Pandora Box, with 20 representing the regions of Japan: Touto, Hokuto, and Seito.

Variants of Fullbottles include Sclashjellies, used by the Sclash Driver, Gears, used by the Nebulasteam Gun, and Evolbottles, used by the Evol Driver.

Overview

The Fullbottles were created by Takumi Katsuragi alongside the Build Driver as part of the first phase of Project Build. They contain purified Nebula Gas to allow a person with a Hazard Level of 3 or higher to transform into a powerful armored form with the Build Driver or Transteam Gun. At some point 20 of the bottles ended in Hokuto and other 20 in Seito. Soichi Isurugi (Blood Stalk) faked the robbery of the Driver and several Fullbottles as part to make believe a girl named Misora (who was in charge of the purification process) that her job would be for a good cause. In order to make his plan work, Soichi erased the memories and faked the death of Katsuragi who wanted to quit the project after he had a change of heart. Soichi also gave the Driver and the Fullbottles to an amnesic Katsuragi now bearing a new face and under the name Sento Kiryu, making him believe that he was a Hero, while in reality he was unwittingly helping Soichi further his evil schemes. The False Kamen Rider

Ten unique pairs of purified and Best-Matched Fullbottles from Touto exist, corresponding to Build's ten main forms. They are integral in Soichi's scheme, as he intended to use them to unlock the Pandora Box and access its powers. Later, it was revealed that another ten pairs of Fullbottles each exist in Hokuto and Seito.

After Build defeats a Smash, an Empty Bottle (エンプティボトル Enputī Botoru) is used to absorb the Nebula Gas from the victim, causing the Bottle to swell and gain a black spiderweb pattern and a Transgel Solid inside (often colored after the Smash, not the Fullbottle it will become), becoming the Smash Bottle (スマッシュボトル Sumasshu Botoru). Through a mysterious power held by Misora Isurugi, her gold bracelet, and a modified microwave machine in nascita's basement made by Sento, the harmful properties are purified, leading to the creation of a Fullbottle which can then be used by Build. That One with the Best Match Sento's machine isn't needed for the process, but reduces the bout of exhaustion Misora suffers following it from a full week unconscious to only a few hours of tiredness. The Trap of Project Build

Before undergoing the purification process, the contents of Smash Bottle can be poured back upon the victim, transforming them back into a Smash. Dangerous Identity However, if one uses a Smash Bottle with a lethal amount of unpurified Nebula Gas inside it, they will disintegrate and die. The Trap of Project Build

Functionality

Kamen Rider Build transforms by inserting two Fullbottles into the Build Driver and turning the lever. Organic-type Fullbottles (有機物系のフルボトル Yūkibutsu-kei no Furubotoru) are inserted into the right-hand slot. They form Halfbodies that affect the left side of Build's head, his right arm, and his left leg. Inorganic-type Fullbottles (無機物系のフルボトル Mukibutsu-kei no Furubotoru) are inserted into the left-hand slot, and form Halfbodies that affect the right side of Build's head, his left arm, and his right leg. Any pair of organic and inorganic Fullbottles can be used to create a Trial Form (トライアルフォーム Toraiaru Fōmu), but each Fullbottle has a Best Match (ベストマッチ Besuto Matchi) with another one, creating a perfect combination of powers that synergizes well. If they are used together, they create an especially powerful Best Match form.

Each Fullbottle has at least one Best Match with another specific Fullbottle, though individual Fullbottles can have multiple Best Matches depending which Fullbottle is used.

Kamen Rider Cross-Z uses only the Dragon Fullbottle to transform, by inserting it into an adapter called the Cross-Z Dragon, and inserting it into the Build Driver.

Night Rogue and Blood Stalk use the Bat and Cobra Fullbottles respectively to transform by inserting them into the Transteam Gun.

Fullbottles may be inserted into certain weapons such as the Drill Crusher or Beat Closer to activate special finisher attacks. The Lion Fullbottle is used to turn the BuildPhone from phone to bike mode.

Fullbottles can also be utilized to give their users in civilian form temporary superhuman abilities by shaking them (Ex. the Rabbit Fullbottle gives Sento temporary super speed and agility to evade attacks, the Dragon Fullbottle gives Ryuga powerful, fiery punches). Seemingly, the more a Fullbottle is used by someone without transforming, the more they synchronize with it. Technology of Destruction

Design

A regular Fullbottle consists of the following parts:

  • Shielding Cap (シールディングキャップ Shīrudingu Kyappu) - The cap on top of the Fullbottle. It is a protective valve that prevents the Transgel Solid inside the Fullbottle from leaking out. This is also why the label on the cap must be turned to face forward during transformation.
  • Material Absorber (マテリアルアブゾーバー Materiaru Abuzōbā) - The component on top of the Fullbottle on which the Shielding Cap is located. It is responsible for absorbing Nebula Gas from the Smash and putting it inside the Fullbottle. Additionally, when Build transforms, the Material Absorber is responsible for retrieving and assembling/disassembling Build's equipment.
  • Transgel Solid (トランジェルソリッド Toranjeru Soriddo) - The liquid inside the Fullbottle. The liquid activates by stimulus, such as shaking, and when activated forms Build's suit and armor.
  • Clear Mold Bottle (クリアモールドボトル Kuria Mōrudo Botoru) - The exterior of the Fullbottle, holding the Transgel Solid within. The Bottle is molded in a high strength, lightweight material, and the image cast on it shows the hidden ability inside the Fullbottle.

The RabbitTank Sparkling Fullbottle consists of the following parts:

  • Shielding Tab (シールディングタブ Shīrudingu Tabu) - The tab on top of the Fullbottle. When pulled, the transformation system starts, and the RT-SP Connector (RT-SPコネクター Rabitto Tanku Supākuringu Konekutā) pops out at the bottom of the bottle, which feeds the ingredients inside the bottle into the Build Driver.
  • Material Absorber SP (マテリアルアブゾーバーSP Materiaru Abuzōbā Supākuringu) - A component absorbing device attached to the Bottle. When Build transforms, it retrieves and re/disassembles equipment. Located inside the Build Logo imprinted section of the can above the Sparkling Indicator.
  • Sparkling Indicator (スパークリングインジケーター Supākuringu Injikētā) - The light emmiting component of the bottle that takes the shape of Build's eyes. It shows the state of each component inside the bottle and emits light when the components are activated.
  • Hard Metal Can (ハードメタルカン Hādo Metaru Kan) - Exterior metal plating that makes up the exterior of the can to protect the internal components. Inside is an inner tank filled with a foam substance called Best Match Liquid (ベストマッチリキッド Besuto Matchi Rikiddo) which was developed using the Transgel Solid of the Rabbit and Tank Fullbottles and combining it with residue emmited from the Pandora Box. The Best Match Liquid is added as a material for suit and armor (most likely the white sections of the RabbitTank Sparkling Form) and enhances the performance of equipment.
  • Material Activator (マテリアルアクティベイター Materiaru Akutibeitā) - A vibration amplification device built into the Bottle. When shaking the bottle, the Material Activator amplifies the kinetic energy of the shaking and allows the components inside the RabbitTank Sparkling Fullbottle to activate faster.

Notes

  • The Fullbottle's name is a pun on the Japanese word for "shake" (振る furu).
  • The Fullbottle combinations of Organic and Inorganic are similar to the Mechanical Army monsters of Destron in Kamen Rider V3, as well as the general motifs of the TrinoidIcon-crosswiki monsters of the Invasion Garden EvolianIcon-crosswiki in Bakuryuu Sentai AbarangerIcon-crosswiki, which the latter is more akin to Animal/Plant/Inorganic.
  • This is the first time in which the Legend Rider gimmick is comprised of multiple items. While some have one Rider represented in a single bottle, the Legend Rider Fullbottles can also exist as pairs in a fusion of Legend Riders' motifs.
    • It is also the first time in which the Legend Rider gimmick is compatible with main series items that are already obtained by the Rider, such as the case of the Medal and Yujo Fullbottles being compatible with the Taka and Rocket Fullbottles, respectively.
    • The resulting forms are shown to be the actual form of the Rider, excluding the Build Driver around the waist, much like Kamen Rider Decade's use of the Rider Cards.
  • Design-wise, the method of reading the Fullbottles in the DX Build Driver, as well as the inclusion of standby music, is very similar to the use of Shift Cars in the Shift Brace from Kamen Rider Drive.
  • Fullbottles adding an announcement to a compatible pairing, while yielding more power than with a random pairing, is similar to the Combos from Kamen Rider OOO.
    • Future Best Match forms require Fullbottles that are yet to be obtained, just as most of the Combos were unavailable from the start until the required Medals were obtained.
    • The concept of a more compatible pairing between a set of Fullbottles is similar to the Half-Changes of Kamen Rider W.
  • Though the Fullbottles have Best Matches labeled on them already, Sento himself doesn't appear to know which is a Best Match until the Driver tells him. While Ryuga notes the Best Matches follow the Organic + Inorganic formula, sometimes Build simply doesn't have the corresponding Fullbottle until it is made. Later, however, Sento successfully predicts a Best Match (KaizokuRessya) with a Bottle that had yet to appear (Densya).
  • The relation between Fullbottles and the Smash have parallels in previous series:
    • The method of sealing a Smash's essence is similar, to an extent, to sealing an Undead in a blank Rouze Card from Kamen Rider Blade, but while sealed Undead generally gave Riders new attacks, absorbed Smash essences give Build new forms, similar to Category Jack and King Undeads, though the Smash essence sometimes doesn't match the motif of the defeated Smash.
    • The concept of having an impure/pure form to the Fullbottles draws a parallel with the Gaia Memories from Kamen Rider W. In addition, the Kamen Riders of both series are only able to use the refined version of their respective collectible device.
      • Similar to long-term use of the Dopant Memories, Fullbottles are capable of imparting related abilities to civilians, but only when shaken, and the effect is temporary.
      • The Hard Smashes, however, transform by jabbing special Bottles directly onto themselves, much like Memories.
    • The same source being responsible for the creation of both the Rider System and the monsters of the series is similar to the reverse-engineered devices of the Core Switch from Kamen Rider Fourze.
    • Most transformations into a monster generally results in a belligerent threat to others, while others can retain their humanity and become more powerful, despite no longer being purely human, like the Inves and the Over Lord Inves, respectively.
    • Build absorbing the essence of a Smash into an Empty Bottle brings to mind how Gashacon Bugvisors are used to absorb the remains of a Bugster virus from the previous season.
  • While all of the Bottles from Touto and Legend Rider Best Matches are all a solid translucent color with a sculpted shape, those from Hokuto and Seito instead are clear and only have color on the sculpted shape. The reason for this difference, if there is one, is yet unknown, though it is likely meant to distinguish between Build's main and auxiliary Fullbottles. (Similar to the solid- and sparkly-colored Eyecons, it may simply be a toyline-related decision with no story connection.)
Current Fullbottle Tally

The latest known tally of Fullbottles within each region.

  • The Fullbottles for the GoldScorpion Best Match were originally classified as part of Hokuto's tally of Fullbottles in early toy catalogues. For reasons unknown, this was later replaced by RoseCopter, as confirmed in a statement by Bandai.[8] It is currently unknown if GoldScorpion will be released again separately.
  • The FullFull RabbitTank Bottle is similar to the Gashat Gear Dual from the previous season. Like it, it has 2 distinct forms/modes with different motifs.
    • Coincidentally, like the first Gashat Gear Dual, the FullFull Rabbit Tank Bottle has red and blue forms each with very different abilities and motifs, being an organic and inorganic motif for the FullFull Bottle and a fighting and puzzle game motif for the Gashat Gear Dual.
