"(Memory) Maximum Drive!"
―Activation announcement[src]

Each Rider in Kamen Rider W possess the ability to execute their own finishing attack(s) known as a Maximum Drive (マキシマムドライブ, Makishimamu Doraibu) which is needed to defeat a Dopant. The energy imparted by the Maximum Drive does not destroy the Dopant but rather its Gaia Memory, resulting in the ejection of the Gaia Memory from the user's body and the destruction of the Gaia Memory, referred to as a Memory Break (メモリブレイク, Memori Bureiku).

List of Maximum Drives[]

Each different version of Kamen Rider Double has its own Maximum Drive.

  • CycloneJoker's Maximum Drive finisher is the Joker Extreme (ジョーカーエクストリーム, Jōkā Ekustorīmu), during which a tiny controlled tornado lifts Kamen Rider Double into the air before Kamen Rider Double's body splits down the middle as the halves reach their target in a drop kick fashion. The attacks comes in the following variations.
    • A higher drop kick where Kamen Rider Double jumping off the back wheel of Kamen Rider Accel BikeForm, allowing for faster acceleration upon descent.[L on the Lips/The Liar Is You]
    • In the Director's Cut version of the Forever: A to Z film, an unnamed version was shown where Double inserts the Cyclone Memory in the Maxmimum Slot and is covered with green wind while delivering a barrage of kicks to nearby opponents.

  • CycloneMetal's Maximum Drive finisher is the Metal Twister (メタルツイスター, Metaru Tsuisutā) where Kamen Rider Double spins around while swinging the Metalshaft covered in an aura of wind.
    • When Stag Phone attached to the Metalshaft, it allows Kamen Rider Double to perform the Metal Stag Break (メタルスタッグブレイク, Metaru Sutaggu Bureiku) Maximum Drive, crushing the Dopant between two pincer-like energy projections emitted from the Metalshaft.

  • When the Cyclone Memory is inserted into the Triggermagnum, it activies the Trigger Aerobuster (トリガーエアロバスター, Torigā Earobasutā), firing multiple shots of pressurized air at the enemy.
  • When Bat Shot attached to the Triggermagnum, it activates the Trigger Bat Shooting (トリガーバットシューティング, Torigā Batto Shūtingu) Maximum Drive, locking onto the target through the Bat Shot and then firing a concentrated blast from the Triggermagnum with pinpoint precision.
  • When the Trigger Memory is inserted into the Triggermagnum, it activates the Trigger Storm Bomb (トリガーストームボム, Torigā Sutōmu Bomu), firing a high-concentrated shot of pressurized air which then turns into a mini-tornado.

  • HeatMetal's Maximum Drive finisher is the Metal Branding (メタルブランディング, Metaru Burandingu), causing one or both ends of the Metalshaft to ignite on fire and deliver a final blow to the opponent. A variation of this attack is the Steam Metal Branding (スチームメタルブランディング, Suchīmu Metaru Burandingu), a tandem attack used in combination with Kamen Rider Accel's Engineblade which is only seen in the Hyper Battle DVD.

  • HeatJoker's Maximum Drive finisher is the Joker Grenade (ジョーカーグレネード, Jōkā Gurenēdo), during which Kamen Rider Double somersaults in mid-air, then HeatJoker's body splits down the middle during descent as the halves each hit the target with elementally energized hooks.
  • When the Heat Memory is inserted in the Maximum Slot, it activates the Joker Backdraft (ジョーカーバックドラフト, Jōkā Bakku Dorafutou), delivering a straight punch to the target with an elementally energized fist.

  • HeatTrigger's Maximum Drive finisher is the Trigger Explosion (トリガーエクスプロージョン, Torigā Ekusupurōjon), which fires a single constant stream of fire that completely vaporizes the enemy. HeatTrigger is the only form of Kamen Rider Double's that has attempted to perform a Twin Maximum, in which the Triggermagnum blasts out a massive fireball that incinerates anything in its path.
    • When Ryu's Beetle Phone is attached to the Triggermagnum, it enables the Trigger Beetle Blaster (トリガービートルブラスター, Torigā Bītoru Burasutā), which fires a small, thin, very fast and concentrated laser. Its only drawback is the recoil unless another person backs up the shooter.

  • HeatTrigger's Unnamed Twin Maximum Drive: After inserting the Trigger Memory in the Triggermagnum and the Heat Memory in the Maximum Slot, Double blasts out a massive fireball that incinerates anything in its path.

  • HeatMetal's Unnamed Maximum Drive: After inserting the Heat Memory in the Maximum Slot, Double creates a massive fire energy on Hardmammother and incinerates anything in its path.

  • LunaTrigger's Maximum Drive finisher is the Trigger Full Burst (トリガーフルバースト, Torigā Furu Bāsuto), which fires multiple charged homing shots at the enemy.
    • When Stag Phone attached to the Triggermagnum, it allows Double to perform the Trigger Stag Burst (トリガースタッグバースト, Torigā Sutaggu Bāsuto) Maximum Drive, crushing the Dopant between two pincer-like energy projections shot from the Triggermagnum.
  • When the Luna Memory is inserted into the Maximum Slot, it activates the Trigger Shine Field (トリガーシャインフィールド, Torigā Shain Fīrudo), where he generates a special territory field using Luna's tracing particles and any Triggermagnum shots fired are linked to Double's sensors which home onto the target.

  • LunaJoker's Maximum Drive finisher is the Joker Strange (ジョーカーストレンジ, Jōkā Sutorenji), during which LunaJoker splits down the middle, the Luna half makes four copies of itself, and all five Luna halves execute rapid-fire karate chops on the target, and then the Joker half strikes the target with an energy powered chop.

  • LunaMetal's Maximum Drive finisher is the Metal Illusion (メタルイリュージョン, Metaru Iryūjon) where Kamen Rider Double spins the Metalshaft around to create golden rings that float around Kamen Rider Double, before unleashing them upon the target all at once.

  • The Maximum Saber is used to perform FangJoker's Maximum Drive: the flying roundhouse kick Fang Strizer (ファングストライザー, Fangu Sutoraizā), in which a projection of the Fang Memory's head is shown "biting" the opponent when Kamen Rider Double comes in contact.
    • This can be used with Accel's Accel Glanzer to perform the Rider Twin Maximum (ライダーツインマキシマム, Raidā Tsuin Makishimamu) finisher.

  • The Arm Saber on Double's left wrist is used to perform FangTrigger's Maximum Drive: the Fang Screwdle (ファングスクリュードル, Fangu Sukuryūdoru), in which a charged energy arrow is fired with the tip dinosaur-shaped in Doubledriver format. When fired, the arrow fires at a fast and spiralling pace where the dinosaur tip crunches the opponent upon impact, before sending the enemy flying and exploding.

  • The Shoulder Saber is used to perform FangMetal's Maximum Drive: the corkscrew tackle Fang Spear Bullet (ファングスピアバレット, Fangu Supia Baretto), in which Double hurls the opponent into the air before delivering a spiralling charge tackle towards the enemy. With Double's arms crossed, shoulders high and fangs extended, the attack is powerful enough as a penetrating drill.

  • CycloneJokerXtreme's Maximum Drive is the Double Xtreme (ダブルエクストリーム, Daburu Ekusutorīmu); after closing and opening the Xtreme Memory, a twister forms around Kamen Rider Double that lifts him into the air to then accelerate him down towards his target.
    • CycloneJokerGoldXtreme's Maximum Drive is the Golden Xtreme (ゴールデンエクストリーム, Gōruden Ekusutorīmu), which is the enhanced version of Double Xtreme.

By using the Prism Memory in the Doubledriver's Maximum Slot and activating its Maximum Drive as well as the Xtreme Memory's Maximum Drive, it enables CycloneJokerXtreme to perform a powered-up version of the Double Xtreme called the Double Prism Xtreme (ダブルプリズムエクストリーム, Daburu Purizumu Ekusutorīmu) which extends the initial drop kick into bicycle kicks.

  • When inserting the Prism Memory into the Prismsword and by pressing the Maximum Starter button on its hilt, the Prism Break (プリズムブレイク, Purizumu Bureiku) Maximum Drive is initiated, either through an energized slash or a wave of energy.

Through the Prism Memory's ability to link Philip's three elemental Gaia Memories with the Joker Memory (or any Body Memory), the Prismbicker allows CycloneJokerXtreme to perform the following quadruple-power Maximum Drives.

  • The Bicker Charge Break (ビッカーチャージブレイク, Bikkā Chāji Bureiku), a stronger version of Prism Break that combines the power of Gaia Memories. The Trigger Memory is proven to be adaptable during the "Closed k" case in Futo Tantei.
    • An aerial version in which Double turns the Bickershield into a whirling disc of energy and rides it like a surfboard, allowing him to perform the Maximum Drive against an airborne foe.
    • The Bicker Luna Charge Break (ビッカールナチャージブレイク, Bikkā Runa Chāji Bureiku) when inserting the Cyclone, Joker, Heat and Trigger Memories into the Prismbicker and the Luna Memory in the Maximum Slot, which longates the Prismsword and charging it with Luna particles to make in tangible for slash range around the target.
  • The Bicker Finalusion (ビッカーファイナリュージョン, Bikkā Fainaryūjon), which fires a rainbow laser blast as either an offense attack or creates a special barrier that nullifies a Dopant's abilities, and can be used through the following variations.
    • When the Metal Memory is inserted as the base, it creates a strong energy shield capable of withstanding powerful ranged attacks, such as from Claydoll Xtreme.
    • In the novel, a "Trigger Full Burst" version can be fired with only the Cyclone, Luna and Trigger Memories inserted.
    • Shown in the "Closed k" case of Futo Tantei, a cushion-like energy field is generated when inserting only the Luna Memory.
    • In the "h of the Maze Building" cases when using the Heat Memory, the attack can either generate a flame barrier or a flamthrower attack.
    • In the "Superman r" case, it was supposedly to fire a more powerful version that the Reactor Dopant's beam when the Trigger Memory is used as the base, but was unsuccessful when Reactor managed to take Tokime hostage.
    • In the "Treasure of b" case when using the Accel Memory as the base, it can fire off a spiralling-fire laser blast at accelerating speed, even exceeding the Trash Dopant's regenerative ability.

When Decade uses the Final Attack Ride Card, CycloneCyclone, JokerJoker, and Decade perform the three-way Triple Extreme (トリプルエクストリーム, Toripuru Ekusutorīmu) attack, where both Doubles use their traditional Drop Kicks while Decade uses his traditional Flying Side Kick.

  • Kamen Rider Joker is capable of two distinct Maximum Drives, the Rider Punch (ライダーパンチ, Raidā Panchi) and the Rider Kick (ライダーキック, Raidā Kikku), when the T2/T1 Joker Memory is placed into the Maximum Slot.

  • When the Skull Memory is set in the Skullmagnum's Maximum Slot (マキシマムスロット, Makishimamu Surotto), and then the gun is set in Maximum Mode, it initiates the Skull Memory's Maximum Drive: a series of powerful energy bursts called the Skull Punisher (スカルパニッシャー, Sukaru Panisshā).
  • Skull is also capable of a second Maximum Drive, the Rider Kick (ライダーキック, Raidā Kikku)[1], has two variations:
    • A giant energy skull is released from his chest, which stuns the opponent and knocks them back before rising into the air. Skull then puts the Skull Memory into the Maximum Slot, jumps up and does a roundhouse Rider Kick, which propels the energy skull toward the opponent, whom it bites down on.
    • Skull delivers a flying kick covered in purple energy. [Episode Yellow: Treasure de End Pirates]

  • By squeezing the Maximum Clutch Lever (マキシマムクラッチレバー, Makishimamu Kuratchi Rebā) on the left handlebar of the Acceldriver and revving the Power Throttle, Kamen Rider Accel initiates his Accel Glanzer (アクセルグランツァー, Akuseru Gurantsā) finisher: After charging up to a point when Accel is engulfed in orange flames, he executes a jumping spinning heel kick. This can be used with Double FangJoker's Fang Strizer to perform the Rider Twin Maximum (ライダーツインマキシマム, Raidā Tsuin Makishimamu) finisher.

  • In AccelTurbuler form, his finisher is the AccelTurbuler Phoenix (アクセルタービュラーフェニックス, Akuseru Tāburā Fenikkusu): Accel pierces through his target while covered in flames forming the English letter A.

Through the use of the Gaia Memories, Kamen Rider Accel can use the Engineblade's different elemental abilities by pulling the trigger. It also allows Accel to perform unique Rider Slash Maximum Drive finishers with the Engineblade through the various Gaia Memories.

Engineblade can also allows Accel to perform two unique Rider Slash Maximum Drive finishers with the Engineblade through the Engine Memory.

  • A-Slasher (エースラッシャー, Ē Surasshā): A concentration of energy in the shape of the letter A is shot out from the Engineblade at the enemy.
  • Dynamic Ace (ダイナミックエース, Dainamikku Ēsu): This finisher has two variations.
    • Accel performs three consecutive slashes that form the letter A in a horizontal or vertical plane, slashing through the enemy to destroy it.[2]
    • Accel heats the Engineblade before delivering a red energy slash to the opponent. He then spins away while delivering additional slashes, causing an energy letter A to appear on the enemy. After a brief delay, the enemy explodes.
  • AccelBooster can utilize the Engineblade and perform the Boost Slasher (ブーストスラシャー, Būsuto Surasshā) Maximum Drive, where the Engineblade project a large golden energy blade to slice through the target.

  • When inserted into the Engineblade, Philip's Cyclone Memory allows Kamen Rider Accel to perform a wind-powered Maximum Drive strong enough to wound even the Weather Dopant.

  • Once the Maximum Drive is initiated, Kamen Rider Accel Trial can only be used for another 10 seconds before being forcibly reverted to human form, but the transformation is retained if the Trial Maximum Drive is successfully executed within 10 seconds. This form's Maximum Drive is the Machine Gun Spike (マシンガンスパイク, Mashingan Supaiku), a series of multiple kicks in a row which leave a series of energy treadmarks in the form of a T. The power of this Maximum Drive is only limited by how many kicks AccelTrial can perform within the 10 second time limit. When Kamen Rider AccelTrial combines the Engine Maximum Drive with the Trial Maximum Drive, he can perform the Machine Gun Slasher (マシンガンスラッシャー, Mashingan Surasshā) Maximum Drive, repeatedly slashing the target in the time limit, instantly killing the target itself.

  • Eternal's Maximum Drive with the Eternaledge is the Eternal Requiem (エターナルレクイエム, Etānaru Rekuiemu), which generates a power wave that neutralizes an enemy Gaia Memory in sight, while the T2 version neutralizes all Gaia Memories with the exception of T2 Memories. A variation of this finisher also executes a Rider Kick to the target.
    • With the Eternaledge, Eternal can perform an alternate Maximum Drive called the Bloody Hell Blade (ブラッディヘルブレイド, Buraddi Heru Bureido) in which he performs a green energy slash.

  • In addition to the Maximum Slots on the Lostdriver and Eternaledge, Eternal has a series of Gaia Memory Slots on combat belts around its chest, right arm, and left leg; with the Memory Slot in the Lostdriver, a total of 27. By filling all of these Memory Slots with the T2 Gaia Memories(triggered by the T2 Zone Memory in the Lostdriver's Maximum Slot), Eternal is powered into his Strengthening Armament (強化武装, Kyōka Busō) mode, able to absorb the X-Bicker energy to produce the Eternal Wave (エターナルウェーブ, Etānaru Wēbu) green aura that he uses in his Neverending Hell (ネバーエンディングヘル, Nebāendingu Heru) Maximum Drive.
  • Eternal also uses the T2 Unicorn Memory to create an energy drill around his fist for a Maximum Drive named Corkscrew Punch (コークスクリューパンチ, Kōkusukuryū Panchi).

Despite not being a Kamen Rider, Shroud can perform Maximum Drives with her Shroudmagnum, a similar weapon to the Triggermagnum and Skullmagnum.

  • With the Bomb Memory, Shroud executes an unnamed Maximum Drive finisher in which the Shroudmagnum shoots out a sphere of energy which splits into smaller spheres that explode. [The O Chain/Shroud's Confession]
