Icon-gaimThis article is about a set of alternate forms in Kamen Rider Gaim.

A Ride Wear (ライドウェア, Raido Uēa) is the default, pre-form undersuit of Armored Riders. The Ride Wear that a Sengoku Driver has is easily identifiable through the Rider Indicator. The Rider Indicator only identifies what Ride Wear a Sengoku Driver contains for simplicity and can be replaced with extensions such as the Genesis Core or the Senyo Joint. The Ride Wear's helmet can be modified or changed based on what Lockseed they're using.

Genesis Armored Rider's undersuit is called a Genetic Ride Wear (ゲネティックライドウェア, Genetikku Raido Uēa) and is tied directly to the Energy Lockseed rather than through the Genesis Driver itself.[1][2]

When using a particularly powerful form (such as Gaim's Jimber, Kachidoki, and Kiwami Arms, Zangetsu's Watermelon, and Kachidoki Arms, Ryugen Yomi's Yomotsuheguri Arms, and Duke's Dragon Energy Arms), the Ride Wear/Genetic Ride Wear will be altered to reflect the power of the Lockseed being used.

These forms are briefly seen during Armored Rider's transformation sequence before the Armor Part attaches or when they change Lockseeds. Ride Wears are completely vulnerable to any incoming attacks when shot at directly rather than at the Arms that is descending down on the Rider. [Baron's Genesis Transformation!]

The vast majority of the Ride Wears are available in Gaim's Arms Change toyline, which allows simulation with the majority of Armor Parts.

Notes[]

  • In the toyline, swapping the Rider Indicator faceplates with a different one will result in the Sengoku Driver playing different standby sounds. Though never done in the TV Show, all of Kouta Kazuraba's transformations without the Rider Indicator shows that the Rider Indicator is only for display.
    • Though by the default in the toyline, inserting the Genesis Core Slot in place of any of the Rider Indicators forces the Sengoku Driver to have the Japanese Samurai themed standby sound presumably because only Kouta has used extensions for the Driver.
      • Through the CSM toyline, it's revealed that a Genesis Core Slot can be modified to accommodate most/all standby variants, as shown with the use of the Marron Energy Lockseed with Knuckle's Jimber Marron Arms being made movie-accurate in the toyline.
