This article is about a cross-series toyline in the Kamen Rider Series. |
SO-DO is a low-budget line of buildable figurines under the Candy Toy Series produced by Bandai.
Beginning with the premier of Kamen Rider Ex-Aid in 2016, the toyline has consistently continued with every mainline Kamen Rider show until the modern day, later branching out into prior Heisei Kamen Rider series with the SO-DO CHRONICLE subline in 2019; starting with Kamen Rider W.
The line's core feature entails using two separate purchases to make one figure -- while the exact contents vary from series to series, the typical set-up is an 'A' box containing the base body, and a 'B' box containing armour, remaining parts and often weapons and other accessories. SO-DO as such can be seen as a miniature model kit line due to the necessity of building each figure, complete with most figures requiring stickers. The figures are also made in a 4.5" (or 11cm) scale, differentiating them from other Kamen Rider action figure lines; including the comparable SHODO candy toy line.
